Supporting Claremont Public Schools!

Claremont Educational Foundation exists to help Claremont schools excel because we believe that improving our schools, improves our community. We work to close the gap left in state funding and help protect Claremont Unified School District’s priorities by granting, to every school, every school year, funds to support art, music, and technology programs. Since 1991, we have been able to grant over $3.8 million to Claremont schools and with the support of volunteers, community members, business partners, we will work continuously to ensure the success of this program for years to come.

Student Impact Grants

CUSD Educators...Kickstart Your Impactful Ideas Here!

CEF believes in supporting CUSD’s top-notch educational staff and nurturing a space where innovative and impactful ideas can develop and flourish. In this spirit, CEF is excited to fund small grants for creative projects that engage students in high-impact learning opportunities. Teachers and principals in CUSD are eligible to apply. The focus of these grants is enhancing access to creative, project-based learning for CUSD students. Projects may align with CEF’s traditional areas of focus (art, music, and technology) or explore other subject areas (humanities, sciences, etc). Teachers may apply individually; groups of teachers may submit a proposal together for a collaborative school-site or grade-level project, or principals may submit a proposal for a school-wide project. Partnerships with community groups on projects that hold promise for enhancing learning in CUSD are welcome.

Fruechte Arts Fund

Provides financial assistance to Claremont High School Theater Students in need who wish to attend the International Thespian Festival and participate in performing arts programs and events.

The Fruechte Arts Fund is an endowed fund that provides need-based financial assistance to Claremont High School (CHS) theatre students to attend performing arts programs such as the International Thespian Festival (ITF), the premier summer teen theatre festival in the country. This once-a-year event brings together more than 4000 students from across the US, plus hundreds of Thespians from around the world. CHS theatre students have a long tradition of attending ITF. Over the years, CHS has taken three productions to the ITF mainstage (only 8 shows are selected each year). Hundreds of CHS theatre students have found their college programs through the ITF college audition process. Participation in this event has changed the lives of CHS students and we want to make sure experiences, like this, are available to all theatre students, regardless of ability to pay.

Other Opportunities

Supporting the Fundraising Efforts in Our Community

Claremont Educational Foundation makes an effort to support the fundraising efforts of other organizations within our community. Each year, we provide an opportunity for CUSD school booster groups and local non-profit organizations to sell tickets for our Annual Toyota Prius Raffle in exchange for receiving a portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold. The amount received by the organization is determined through a tiered process with organizations receiving increasingly larger portions for the more tickets sold. We also often partner with these and other organizations for additional mutually-beneficial fundraising efforts and events. Each school year, CEF also offers limited in-kind donations of tickets to our various fundraising events for use in auctions and opportunity drawings. Please see our FAQs for details.
